About the Cook

My name is Nick. Some people call me Davis, but that is a whole other story/tumbleblog in itself. You can call me either, it makes no difference to me at this point.

I am 24-years old, trying my best to survive in the paradise otherwise known as Santa Barbara. I studied music, with an emphasis in Vocal Performance, at Westmont College; however, at this point I have no plans to do anything in the music industry besides sing and enjoy listening to it.

I started this blog because I’ve reached a point where I don’t really know what’s next in life and I’m trying my best to cling to the things that I know and love. One of those things is food. For me, food is a passion. It’s more than just something we eat. It’s a medium that connects each of usand gives us life and energy. This blog is my attempt to explore the world of food, mainly the cooking/baking aspect, as I also journey into life’s unknown - the mid-20s(!). Surely it will be an exciting - or at least filling - adventure.

Along with music and food, I also enjoy cycling, gardening, reading, laughing, and listening.

the salty scone This blog is about life, exploration, inquiry, and change; but most importantly, it's about FOOD.
